The house next to Casa Bob y Carlos finally sold this week, and I think the new owners will be moving in soon, so I will be asking Carlos, and myself, to tone down our yelling; well, it’s really mock yelling, but to the neighbor’s it might seem, um, not so much.

I have been fighting a cold this week, and as happens, Carlos, who I must remind you all, is not a doctor, tells me I need to drink Hot Tea all the time.

I tell him, and, again, reminder, I am not a doctor, that I prefer to drink Not Hot Drinks. Carlos gives a dissertation on Hot Beverages and I quickly remind him that any doctor will tell you, cold or flu, to gets lots of sleep and drink lots of liquids … with no mention of a specific temperature of that said liquid.

As Carlos was leaving the house this morning, and as I was returning to my boudoir and the warm comfort of my bed, he began “mock” shouting Hot Tea! Hot Tea!

And I began “mock” shrieking, even with my bad throat, You’re not a doctor! Stop talking!! STOP TALKKING!!!!!

Welcome to the neighborhood, newbies!
Man alive, those Russians really hate The Gays, and anything even Gay Adjacent!

It seems the residents of Saint Petersburg have reportedly torn down a giant interactive iPhone memorial that commemorated the death of Apple founder Steve Jobs because Apple’s current CEO, Tim Cook, came out as gay. And the chairman of the company that installed the memorial said that it might return with a message that instructs Russians not to buy Apple products.

Yup, tell down a memorial to one man, because another man in the company is a ‘mo.

St. Petersburg better be careful, because with that attitude they might be tearing down the entire town one day.
Did y’all see blowhard Chris Christie going off on the man who dared interrupt him as he was speaking? The man, a constituent of Christie’s, and a man who survived Hurricane Sandy, though he’s still waiting for money to come through that he needs to rebuild his home, simply wanted the Governor to answer some questions.

Christie’s response? “Sit down and shut up."

Remember that when the Fat man runs for office because that’s how he’ll react to any question he doesn’t like.

It’s not presidential, it’s thuggish and bullying and condescending. If anyone needs to sit down and shut up it’s Chris Christie.
So Taylor Swift turned her back on Country music to be a Pop Star? Well, I’d say that Pop’s loss and Country’s gain. And she hightailed it right outta Nashville for New York City where she was named NYC’s Global Ambassador after living there all of half an hour.

So, what does Taylor Swift do? Well, she donated the proceeds of her new song “Welcome to New York” to charity and then she set up her world tour to promote her latest album.

She’ll be playing everywhere except New York City.

Seriously, the girl is a moron. I mean, she’s playing in Jersey so I guess she thinks that’s good enough? It isn’t.
After last Tuesday’s election, Senator Wack Nut, er, Rand Paul created a series of Facebook posts showing every losing Democrat endorsed by Hillary Clinton.

And you thought this was all Obama's fault? Nope, cuz he’ll be out of office in two years so Rand decides to go on the attack against Hilary.

Someone’s scared, eh, Rand?
I’ve been watching The Affair on Showtime. It tells the story of a murder — though we don’t know who died, even if they were murdered, or who did it — and a couple of people involved are the ones having The Affair.

It’s kind of morose, though I do enjoy the way they show both adulterers’’ sides to the story, but there is some man candy.

Joshua Jackson — on the right — plays Cole Lockhart, the husband of the woman having the affair, and though we saw his buck nekkid in episode one I was less than impressed. But then we saw him in jeans, riding, then dismounting a horse and, well, a man in Levi’s with a nice ass … I’m hooked.

In addition we have Colin O’Donnell — on the left — playing Cole’s brother Scotty, er, Hotty.

Yeah, I may be able to endure the morose for the occasional hotness. I’m shallow like that, you know.
So, My-Husband-In-My-Head Matt Bomer made his debut on AHS: Freak Show last night, playing a gay hustler, yum, who gets picked up in a bar by the wickedly insane, and insanely adorable, Dandy, played by Finn Wittrock. The two of them, in tighty whites? Oy, thank goodness for DVRs and replay!

I was in heaven until … and I’ll save the spoilers if you haven’t seen; suffice to say, Matt? What happened?

Also, the delicious Frances Conroy. Lots of talk, and all of it well-deserved, about Jessica Lange, but Frances Conroy has always been fabulous in AGS and this year is no different; the voice — "They're special bulbs from Holland! Don't question me!" — the hair, the clothes, the personality of her character. I want her to have her own season of Horror.

And then to have Gabourey Sidibe again? Loving it! Hopefully she’ll play a larger part before this all ends.
So, am I the only one who finds all those pictures of the virulently anti-gay Benham Brothers hoisting virulently anti-gay politicians into the air to be more than just a little gay looking?

And, not that I’m saying he’s gay, but the looks on Huckleberry's, Jindal's and Perry’s faces seem to suggest that they’re more than a little tickled to be carried around by bigots.

Speaking of homophobes, for some reason Peter LaBarbera, president of the anti-gay organization Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, went on the attack against National Treasure, Neil Patrick Harris.

Luckily Dan Savage was there to respond … and God, too.

Taylor Swift is everywhere this week because she has a new album coming out; get over it, I’m old, and I’ll call them “albums” until I die. But seriously, she’s everywhere and I am so afraid to see that Blow Up Doll’s bright red lips that I won’t turn on my TV.

So, what will I do about tonight’s episode of How To Get Away With Murder? I mean, I love Viola Davis. But what if Swifty appears? Unless, and this could be good, she’s the murder victim? I mean she plays the victim in all her songs, the ones that have infiltrated my brain without consent, so maybe she’d be a good victim on HTGAWM.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I like some Mindnumbingly Dumb Pop Music, but at least the kind I like comes from actual singers and not the computer-enhanced variety—Google her disastrous “live” performance on the Grammy’s a couple of years back when she couldn’t carry a tune in Size 10 Jimmy Choos.

I caught an earful of her new song, Shake It Off, the other day where she, for lack of a better word, “sings” about “haters gonna hate” … repeat ad nauseum … and I got to thinking that all she sings about are the people who’ve wronged her and don’t like her and are mean to her.

And it hit me that she likes being dumped and she likes people being mean and she lives for the haters, because without them, er, us, she’d have nothing to, again, for lack of a better word, “sing” about.
After the 9th Circuit Court struck down Idaho’s constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, Idaho state Senator, and certifiable Pandering Loon, Steve Vick proposed a solution to what he calls “gross governmental overreach”:

“If we’re not allowed to determine the standards for a marriage license, then maybe we should just not issue them. … I’m exploring is just eliminating marriage licenses in Idaho.”
Seriously, if Idaho is gonna have to “let” The Gays get married, then Vick wants to outlaw marriage altogether. That’s his solution!

I say, You first, Steve! Why don’t you call your lovely wife at home and tell her that your marriage is meaningless because now The Gays can do it, too, and so, since you’re obviously — and this is just my opinion … I have no proof — a deeply closeted homosexual, you and your wife should call it quits.

I mean, if marriage should be outlawed, Stevie, make it retroactive.

Asshat.
I used to have a mad crush on Bruce Jenner, the Olympian. The Bruce Jenner of reality TV fame? Not so much.

I don’t know what’s going on with him, and it isn’t my business, but the hairdo, the Farrah he’s rockin’, the shaving down of his Adam’s Apple, and this new picture of him with his lovely nail polish?

I don’t know if he’s transgender and planning to transition, or if he’s become such a famewhore that he’s taken a page from the Kash Kow’s playbook and will do anything to keep people talking.

That said, while I was stunned by the polish, I was more shocked that he’s a smoker.

AHS is getting some NPH and I am like OMG.

Neil Patrick Harris, and his adorable husband David Burtka, are set to guest-star on AHS.

NPH will appear in Freak Show‘s 11th and 12th episodes as a chameleon salesman, while Burtka will turn up in the season finale—episode Lucky 13—in what is said to be a sexy storyline with Jessica Lange.

I.Can’t.Wait. But …. In other AHS news:

Lily Rabe, who played the role of Sister Mary Eunice on American Horror Story: Asylum, will reprise her Asylum role on Freak Show in Episode 10.

And since Naomi Grossman returned to AHS: Freak Show as Asylum’s Pepper, maybe Sister Mary’s return involves Pepper and how she went from the freak show to Asylum‘s Briarcliff Institution.

Again: Can’t.Wait.
Leave it to FoxNews, the media arm of the GOP, and the talking-heads from The Five to declare that the war on women a creation of the Democratic Party.

And yet, in a segment focused on voting and how women and women's issues are impacting the midterm elections, co-host Greg Gutfield says it's a fact that women grow more conservative as they grow older, and so they should wait until they're older to vote:

"With age comes wisdom. I tell young people, 'You don't have to wait to become a conservative."

And off camera, co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle—a women, I’m guessing—is heard saying that women should wait "to get a brain." And then on-camera, she talks about how, as an attorney, she dismisses young women when choosing juries:

"Young women on juries are not a good idea."

She says she tells them to "go back on Tinder or Match.com," because they "don't get it" -- "it" being experience with household duties, "paying the bills, doing the mortgage, kids, community, crime, education, healthcare."

So, explain again how this whole war on women is a Democratic thing.

Asshats.
We watched Constantine last week; what a horrible show; and not one shot of last week’s Random Musing hottie, Michael James Shaw. A total waste of time.

So, this week, we’ll show off Carter Macintyre from USA’s new comedy — which started off funny so we’ll see — Benched, and the lovely and talented Erich Bergen, the Is-he-gay-or-isn’t-he assistant on Madam Secretary.

Totes adorbs.
I have talked before about how I wake up every day with a song in my head, and how, sometimes it’s something I heard on the radio or TV during the previous day, and how sometimes it’s just a song I like and how it crept back into my brain and out my mouth.

This week, though, it’s a song I haven’t heard since I was a young queerling and had a young queerling crush on Larry Gatlin.

But it’s pretty and, well, when I YouTube’d — that’s a verb now — it, I still felt a little something  …

Anyway, here’s the song that been playing on a loop in my head for the past few days.

This week Carlos and I attended the celebration of Mexican Independence — it’s September 15th, y’all, not Cinco de Mayo … that’s a whole other celebration — at CAM, the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event was sponsored by the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh — Carlos has worked with them here in South Carolina so that’s how we came to be invited — and was hosted by the Consul General of Mexico in Raleigh, North Carolina, Javier Diaz de Leon, whom we both met.

It was a fun night … great mariachi music and great dancers, along with some fabulous food and killer margaritas … I do love me a good tequila drink, you know. But this is more a Carlos story so let’s go with that …

We’d never been to Raleigh, so I Google Mapped it, with directions to our hotel. As we entered downtown Raleigh, Carlos began reading the directions to the hotel and he said, Continue straight and turn left on West Ln.

I continued on, and on, and on, and right on out of the downtown area and never saw West Lane so we turned back and headed downtown again. I said to Carlos, Now, I’ll turn right on West Lane, right?

He agreed. We stopped at a traffic light and Carlos said, This is it!

I pushed him out of the car. We were looking for W. Lane Street, not West Lane. Oy. We really are Lucy and Ricky only this time he was Lucy!
Ken Ham, the head of the new Creation Museum, will lead a conference for a group that advocates for a new Christian America to be carved out of the southern states.

Yes, he wants the southern states to secede from the United States and form their own Christian nation where only Christians can become citizens.

I guess he forgot what happened the last time the South decided to pull away.

Asshat.
Comedian and actress and gay icon and all-around fabulousness that is Lily Tomlin will be one of 5 recipients of this year's Kennedy Center Honors, making her the very first out lesbian to receive the award.

Lily, and fellow openly gay comedian Ellen DeGeneres, have both received another Kennedy Center award, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, but this is a first for the Kennedy Center Honors.

Way to go Lily. And well deserved.
Speaking of fabulously gay and well-deserved, Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner David Burtka were married earlier this month in Italy.
NPH Tweeted:
“Guess what? @DavidBurtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband’.
They have been together for over ten years and have two children together, making for a very happy family wedding.
Eighty Utah state legislators have filed an amicus brief in which they warn the Supreme Court that upholding the Tenth Circuit's ruling on same-sex marriage will lead to the legalization of polygamous and incestuous marriages.

Siddown. That’s an argument no one truly believes any more.
Thomas Guerra, a 29-year-old man who is accused of knowingly exposing an ex-boyfriend and potentially dozens of other men to HIV has been ordered by a judge to no longer use Internet dating sites.

Um, like that’ll stop him.

A criminal complaint against Guerra lists one alleged victim, and city attorney's say the investigation is continuing and more victims may be added. Guerra has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge, which carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail. However, his alleged victim is hopeful that additional text message records could prompt prosecutors to upgrade the case to a felony, punishable with up to eight years in prison.

I think that’s best.
Down there in Mississippi, Starkville mayor Parker Wiseman has announced that his city will begin offering domestic partner benefits for its LGBT city employees—a first for the state.

In Mississippi, y’all.

The measure was unanimously approved by the Starkville Board of Aldermen. Back in January, Starkville became the first city in Mississippi to officially recognize the dignity of its LGBT citizens.

The march goes on, in even the smallest of towns …
So, last year, a woman accused Cee Lo Green of drugging her with ecstasy and then raping her while she was barely conscious or completely unconscious; she remembers having a drink with him and then waking up naked in his bed.

First thing: ick.

But the DA did not believe there was enough evidence to bring sexual assault or rape charges against Green so those charges never happened. But last week Cee Lo pled “no contest” to the drug charge and agreed to perform 360 hours of community service and attend 52 AA meetings with a private therapist. He’s also on probation for three years.

And since he thinks he got off he decided to take to Twitter to talk about rape … uh huh … you know this won’t go well.  The tweets included these musings:
“Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent.”
“When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass"
"Where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?”
The shiz hit the fan and splattered all over Cee Lo’s fat, drugging women’s face and he deleted all the Tweets, though not before several news outlets screen-grabbed them for posterity. And then he issued this response:
“I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
Sit down, Cee Lo. You’re a rapist who got off on a technicality, that’s who you are, and instead of trying to help those “who love you” to heal, why not try helping the woman you forced your fat ass on to heal.

Then, go away, for good.
The Family Foundation, an anti-gay Christian group, has begun a planned 40-day ‘fast’ to oppose same-sex marriage in order to influence the US Supreme Court into rejecting same-sex marriage when it hears the first of a series of appeals cases in October.
However, they later quietly clarified that members don’t actually have to give up any food at all to take part in the ‘fast’ saying:
“We are asking the entire Body of Christ to join us for this feast – giving up physical food isn’t necessary – but feeding on the spiritual food provided is vital.”
So, the group that is opposed to what they call redefining marriage has decided to redefine what it means to fast?

Siddown. With Cee Lo.
Carlos and I started watching Outlander on Starz last weekend. I thought it was some kind of sci-fi time traveling thing, but it turned out to be some kind of love story time traveling thing.

But it’s beautiful to watch, and reminds me a great deal of something you’d see on Masterpiece Theater, or the BBC, but with nekkid people … though not the Cloud kinda nekkid.

And two men who’ve appeared shirtless, and pants-less even, are Tobias Menzies and Sam Heughan. With accents, too, and y’all know how much I loves me a man with an accent!
Why all the fuss over people reclining their seats on airlines? Three times in the last two weeks airlines have been diverted and forced to land because some got their knees knocked.

Seriously? I have a plan to stop this foolishness: charge those unruly dumbasses for the fees and fuel it costs to reroute an airplane to a different airport, and then allow every single other passenger on the plane to file a lawsuit to have their flight paid for by the asshats who don’t like to be crowded.

Maybe then this nonsense will stop.

I Didn't Say It ...

Neil Patrick Harris, on what it takes to make a relationship work:

"If you want relationships to last, live by ‘for better or worse.’ Honeymoon phases end. They just do. We’re animals, and animals aren’t inclined to copulate with just each other for the rest of their lives. So here’s a challenge: How do you keep redefining your relationship? I think you have to find new elements that turn you on, and not only sexually. Having kids was one of those great moments for me. Watching David become another level of person, mastering this other domain, made me look at him with a whole other set of appreciative eyes. That sort of made me re-fall in love with him."

If times change, relationships change, and the way we look at them including our own, changes.
I re-fall in love with Carlos constantly because every day he does something that makes me do it.
Bryan Fischer, of the hate group American Family Association, saying that all gay people should be inherently disqualified from holding public office:

“If you get a conviction for rape, you can't hold public office. You get a conviction for pedophilia, you can't hold public office. You might even get run out of office on a prostitution charge because it's sexually deviant behavior. Now lesbianism is sexually deviant behavior because it deviates from God's plan and design for human sexually. So I believe that this is a person who, because she's involved in sexually deviant behavior, should be, ought to be disqualified from public service.”

Oh, that old gay = rape, er, pedophilia, er, deviant. Gosh, you’d think Bryan would come up with a new argument.
But, in this case, he’s alluding to Rick Perry’s attempts to force Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign following her arrest for drunk driving to argue his point. And he calls Lehmberg an "open lesbian" in his new, yet old, lame attempt to gay bash a community,.
Funny, though, he’s standing up for  man that many people assume is a closeted homosexual, so maybe Bryan doesn’t have a problem with the closeted gays in office … or as the head of an anti-gay hate group who have their own radio show.
Just sayin’.
Leann Rimes, being delusional … again:

“Yes. I’ve always said that Eddie and I are a gay man’s wet dream. I sing, you can look at him, and it’s perfect.”

Oh honey, if I wanted to be with Eddie and hear you sing I’d turn on a radio.
It'd go like this: Eddie and I are getting busy and I say to Leann: "Honey? Can you close the door? From the other side?"
You aren’t a gay man’s dream; you are an intrusion in a gay man’s dream.
Paul Ryan, on the GOP's renewed enthusiasm for perpetual loser at the presidency, Mittsy Romney:

"Sign me up for the Mitt Mania. I'd drive his [campaign] bus if he asked me."

Funny that he says nary a word about joining the ticket though because, well, losers.
Richard Chamberlain, on coming out at a late age:

"I knew I was gay at age 11 or 12, but I grew up in the 1930s and 40s, when being gay was not an option. I spent a lot of time trying to be someone else. My friends knew, but in Hollywood I was a romantic leading man, so I always lived in fear of being outed. When I started writing my book at age 65, I thought it would be a guide-to-life kind of thing, but my partner at the time and my publisher said, 'You've got to make it personal, and being gay is part of the story.' … While I was writing, it was almost as if an angel walked into the room and said, 'Richard, it's over. All this fear, this self-loathing is just stupid.' The message got right into my bones, and all the fear and self-loathing vanished."

Coming out, no matter when, is just that: being over the self-loathing and the hiding and the lying.
No matter when you do; no matter what age.
