People Say The Darndest Things
![]() |
As I scour this internet thingy, I usually come across the occasional quote that I copy and paste into a future blog posting, like, say, ‘I Didn’t Say It …’ — appearing in this space every Friday morning at 10AM EST ... how's that for a plug? But sometimes I come across a quote so, either hilarious, or stupid, or hilariously stupid, that I cannot save it until Friday; this is one of those times. I came upon this gem by Anthony Morris III, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses at Towleroad, so let’s rip … Morris III apparently believes that God Hates … no, not Fags, that’s Westboro, silly … Tight Pants and Spanx, and believes it’s because they are designed by The Gays. So he said this: "Some of our sisters - what it are these spanx - these skin tight stuff they wear - when they exercise - they leave their home and they're jogging in this stuff. Look at the verse. Is that appropriate to wear skin tight spanx or whatever they call it? It's not modest and it's certainly not sound of mind. It's really not appropriate. There's really nothing else to say about it. Now you want to be in your home or your room and wear that stuff that's your business. But don't go out like that and say you worship the true God." I guess Anthony Morris III’s God feels that women should hide their bodies? Or maybe he doesn’t want y’all coming to church all spanxed up? But it isn’t just women; Morris III also has a warning for The Men: "And the other one that needs addressing is for these young fellas, cause the older ones aren't doing much of it thankfully, is the metrosexual look we've addressed that in the past. What's happened now is that it's really caught on more - the tight suit jacket and the tight pants. Better known as tight pants. They are tight all the way down to the ankles. It's not appropriate. It's not sound of mind. … The homosexuals that are designing these clothes - they'd like you in tight pants." Well, of course we’d like you in tight pants. We’d like to see what we’re getting before we take it home, because, you know, The Gays only care about having ze sex wiz ze mens in our lairs. Or something. I think Anthony Morris III needs to spend a little less time thinking about fashion, and tight clothes, and perhaps spend a little more time on his knees. Praying! Get your minds out of the gutter! What would Anthony Morris III say about you! |

A Plea Deal Will State That Adrian Peterson Never Beat His Son
![]() |
If you were sickened by yesterday’s post about the death of eight-year-old Gabriel Fernandez at the hands of his “mother” and her boyfriend — that post is HERE — then this one won’t sit well with you either. Remember when word got out Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had beaten one of his children with a switch? Well, Peterson was accused of child abuse by the medical examiner — who called the beating, er, as Peterson called it, the whipping, “extreme.” He was subsequently indicted by a Grand Jury in September on charges related to his admitted use of a “switch” to beat his four-year-old son. The police report included photos of cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the boy’s hands — meaning he was trying to stop the beating any way he could. , On top of the photographic evidence was the fact that Peterson not only admitted to the beating, he even texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her 'mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.'" Bragging about how good he is at beating a child; that’s a parent, I guess. And then, when the scandal broke, he showed very little remorse, and, in fact, told a reporter he would never "eliminate whooping my kids . . . because I know how being spanked has helped me in my life." It helped you grow up to thinking a spanking means bruising and cutting your little boy’s body to an extreme degree. He also described the incident as a “normal whooping” in regards to the “welps” on the child’s buttocks, but that he felt bad immediately when he saw the injuries on the child’s legs. And he “believes” he whipped his son with the switch “10 to 15” times, but he’s not sure because he doesn’t “ever count how many pops I give my kids.” Sickening, no? It gets worse. Now Adrian Peterson has reached an agreement in the case, and will plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor reckless assault; the plea will not include any reference to family violence or violence against a minor meaning it looks like he didn’t beat his own child. If the agreement is accepted by Judge Kelly Case, Adrian Peterson will pay a $2,000 fine, be placed on probation, and perform 80 hours of community service. For beating his son so badly he had to be taken to a hospital. Adrian Peterson, who beat his child, texted his mother that she might be angry at how bad he beat his child, admitted he gets so caught up in beating his child he has no idea how many times he’s hit the boy, and says he’d do it again, though, maybe next time, without a switch, pleads "no contest," meaning he admits no guilt. He’ll pay a tiny fine — he makes $20 million a year — and there will never be any mention of child abuse, family violence, domestic violence, or violence against a minor on his record. But there will be physical and emotional marks on his child for the rest of his life. |

I’ve got several things to rant about so I decided it break it up with a triple dose of eye candy because, well, it’s my blog, dammit! I am so tired of those so-called religious leaders, the so-called “Christians” saying that any kind of law or executive or marriage ban struck down is discrimination against people of faith. It’s not; it’s anti-discrimination, and if people of faith still wanna hate the gays, please go right ahead and do so. But know that the time for passing laws against me simply because of whom I love is over. |

So, I’ve been watching Power on Starz; it’s about a drug lord trying to go straight and stars the delicious Omari Hardwick … hee hee ... hardwick. But this week I began noticing the club manager, Kantos, played by the oh-so-delicious Adam Huss. Eye.Candy. |

Some fabulous news? Neil Patrick Harris just might appear on next season’s American Horror Story: Freak Show. Do not play with me Ryan Murphy; I want some NPH in my AHS! The WTF news? Glee star Lea Michele has been lobbying to be a part of American Horror Story for a few years now. Do not play with me Ryan Murphy; I do not want Lea in my AHS! |

Rick Santorum has said he might run for President in 2016 … Michele Bachmann has said she might run in 2016 … Rick Perry is posturing like he wants in the race, too. Man, that is gonna be one tight squeeze in the GOP clown car. |

Also on the Man Candy Tube is a new show called Rush about a brilliant doctor who has personality issues and maybe a wee bit of a drug problem. Think House on coke. But it does star the delicious … I seem to use that word a lot … Welsh actor Tom Ellis, all smoldering eyes and luscious lips. Just sayin’. |

Back to a rant …. CBS has announced that on the next, and thankfully final, season of Two And a Half Men, stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer will get married so that they can adopt a child together. Apparently Kutcher's character will have a health scare that leads to a search for meaning and results in a desire to have a child of his own. But since it’s oh so hard to adopt a child as a single straight man he opts to fake-marry his roommate played by Cryer. Note to CBS: this has already been done, badly, in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Plus, it offends me that you make a mockery of the LGBT struggle to both legally marry and legally adopt a child. Here’s a thought you may have never had: howsabout a show about a gay couple and their adopting a child? Failing that, cancel that ridiculous show already. |

Last, but oh so definitely not least, we have Satisfaction, on the USA network following Rush. It’s the story of a married man who, upon finding out his wife is having sex with an escort, becomes an escort himself. Yeah, farfetched, but the husband is played by the delicious … there’s that word again … Aussie actor Matt Passmore. Beefy dirty blond. |

Good news and a rant? Okay … according to a recently published AMA study, over the last decade new HIV infections have dropped by over 30%; a decline seen in all demographics except young gay and bisexual men. Seriously? The gay community has been decimated by HIV/AIDS and some of us still haven’t learned about protection? |

When I first heard this story — that the New York Giants had hired former player David Tyree — I thought, Who cares? Oh, I knew he was a big anti-marriage equality foe. In the summer of 2011, Tyree claimed that if New York passed same-sex marriage, it would "be the beginning of our country’s sliding toward, you know, it’s a strong word, but anarchy." He also said, “two men will never be able to show a woman how to be a woman" — whatever that means — and then tossed this one on the fire: “How can marriage be marriage for thousands of years and now all the sudden because a minority, an influential minority, has a push or an agenda and totally reshapes something that was not founded in our country, not founded by man, something that’s holy or sacred?” Well, people were outraged that the Giants hired him and, as I said, I thought, Who cares? I mean, do we really want every single person on the planet who is against same-sex marriage or LGBT rights to be denied employment? I’m not; I don’t mind people having different points of view, just don’t use yours to legislate against me. But then …. I heard that Tyree will be the Giants’ new Director of Player Development, a position described by Giants Coach Tom Coughlin as such: “Player engagement has become extremely important in any franchise,” Coughlin said. “It is the working relationship with the players to aid them in their continuing education, their development as young men, the opportunities in the business world and in networking in the city that they happen to be playing in. It is there to help instruct them, make them aware of the issues and the problems that exist out in the community and the world to try to keep them focused on their job and not fall into trouble." In other words, Tyree, an anti-gay marriage activist and born-again Christian will serve as a mentor to new NFL Giants players. Now, I’m pissed off! |
Colorado … and the march goes on. On a personal level, here in South Carolina, last September Katherine Bradacs and Tracie Goodwin filed a federal lawsuit challenging the South Carolina Defense of Marriage Law and a 2006 Amendment to the State Constitution that expressly banned same-sex marriages—see my original post HERE. Two attorneys — Carrie Warner and John Nichols—are donating their time and efforts to represent these women because they believe in the equality of all South Carolina citizens under the law and that we should value people who want to live in a committed relationships regardless of gender. The Further-Round-The-Way-Gays, David and Neal, and Carlos and I, have been invited to attend a meeting next week with these two women and the lawyers to discuss possible ways to support the effort and bring marriage equality to South Carolina. Yes, I said South Carolina. |
