Rush Limbaugh: At Least He Admits He's Racist

This morning I talked about Stupid Anna Kooiman and lo and behold I found some more stupid, this time in the guise of Stupid — possibly drug addicted — and Racist Rush Limbaugh.

Back Story: one interesting email from the Sony Hack details the idea that ounce Daniel Craig is done playing Bond, the role should go to Elba … Idris Elba. If you don’t know him, he’s British, talented and, yes, hot. Oh, and he’s Black, too, which is what has caused Limbaugh’s gut to heave and contract. He says Elba cannot be James Bond because he is black.

Limbaugh told his shrinking syndicated radio show audience that Bond was intended to be a white man by creator Ian Fleming:

"James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was, but now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland. But that’s not who James Bond is and I know it’s racist to probably point this out."

It is racist, Rush, and also slightly wrong, because you see, in Fleming’s first books about the secret agent, Bond wasn’t Scottish; he only began adding hints of a Scottish ancestry to 007’s back-story after the success of Sean Connery’s first movie as Bond, Dr No, in 1962, so, Rush, you’re wrong about Bond being Scottish.

But then he Doubles Down on Dumb by saying that casting Elba as Bond is akin to casting George Clooney and Kate Hudson as Barack and Michelle Obama in a presidential biopic … Kelsey Grammer as Nelson Mandela the next time a film was made about the South African freedom fighter.

Rush? Honey? Step away from the prescription meds because I’ve got a secret to tell you: Bond is not a real person so he could be played by any number of actors, Black or White, Asian, Latino … heck, Bond might even be female one day.

As for the Obama’s, or Mandela, or even Abe Lincoln, well, since they are real people, then they should be played by actors of the same race in a film, but even if they weren’t, it would probably be okay because it might make interesting storytelling.

That kinda makes sense, but the only think that you said that makes any sense at all is, “I know it’s racist to probably point this out.”

It is; you’re a racist. Sit down.

As a palate cleanser from Rush's lunacy, i need a little Idris Elba, looking very Bond.

Ted Nugent Is A Pig

Google it, you’ll see.

He’s a man who has said hateful, racist and threatening things about the President; he’s a man who sh*t so he wouldn’t have to go to Vietnam; he’s a man who married a teenage girl — of whom he was the legal guardian — so he could have sex with her; he’s a man who called for the execution of Democrats and the President of the United States; a man who has made racist comment after racist comment.

I don’t know why anyone would want to hear him perform, much less open his yap to speak, but apparently a group of Idaho Native Americans hired him to give a concert at the Coeur D’Alene Casino but then cancelled after doing one of those quick Google searches and finding out just who Nugent is; a man who doesn’t take well to people cancelling his paycheck because he’s a liar and a racist and an asshat; a man who said this, about Native Americans, after his show was cancelled:

“I take it as a badge of honor that such unclean vermin are upset by me and my positive energy. By all indicators, I don’t think they actually qualify as people, but there has always been a lunatic fringe of hateful, rotten, dishonest people that hate happy, successful people.”

Don’t qualify as people; the original inhabitants of this country don’t qualify as people?

But what shows the irony and the hypocrisy of Ted Nugent is that he was more than willing to take money from the so-called “vermin” and cash their check, but as soon as they heard all the hateful things he’s said, and told him to stay home, suddenly he’s very clearly against them in every possible way.

Of course, isn’t the first time Nugent has been stopped from performing in concert. Earlier this year, a town in Texas actually paid him $16,000 not to perform after they learned what a horrible, hate-filled, lying, draft-dodging, pants-crapping, child-f**king Teabagging, violet asshat he is; and I think that town in Texas feels that the 16K was money well-spent.

And I imagine that now that Nugent has spewed his filth about the Native American population in the country, he’ll be losing more venues and more concerts.

Asshat Tuesday: Connie Trube

Our second inductee into the Tuesdays’ Asshat Club, like our first honoree Rick Perry, also hails from Texas ... must be something in the water. She is Connie Trube, a two term—seriously, she was elected twice—La Marque City Council Member who said this during a City Council meeting:

“It’s not going to get any better until you get those blacks off the school board. She really turned black. She got on the school board with the rest of the blacks and they all just ganged up and that’s why the school system has gone to hell.”

Indeed. Get those blacks off the school board.

And, naturally, once Connie’s racist rant went viral, as those kinds of things are apt to do these days, people were outraged and demanded that Trube resign at once. She was censured by the council, though she has failed to apologize or even non-apologize if she offended anyone.

Fact is, she will not apologize for being an unrepentant racist and so, while I despise her, I kind of like her in-your-face lunacy because usually racists, like cockroaches, hide under sinks and baseboards, and congregate in dark places with other like-minded cockroaches.

Not so Connie Trube. She says, by way of explanation for “get those blacks off the school board”:

“What is on the tape is nothing more than me stating my honest opinion, and I don’t back down from that. I never denied what was on the tape.”

And she won’t resign. But she will be honored right here on this old blog thing as an Asshat of the Week.

Connie Trube; an unrepentant asshat; a racist asshat; an asshat whose time on the city council should be over, whether she resigns or is forcibly removed. But still, and always, she is an asshat.
